Shenyang, Religions, part2

Saturday, November 1st, 2008

Again, I love my city — , and today I will talk about another building in my city — North Dharma-Wheel Temple:

As the photo showed, it is not a temple. It is a Vehicle temple. Maybe because my family believes — Great Vehicle , I do not really familier with this temple.

A temple in , that probably because was the capital city of the 1st period Qing Dynasty, and Qing Emperors like a lot.

This temple is pretty big. I do not know if it is very popular in , but there are a lot of people believe Buddism in rest of China (provinces execpt ). So, as we can tell from the picture, some of the prayers are praying.

Why it called “North ”? There were 4 towers in years ago on 4 directions. Now in , as I remember there are 2 or 3 left. But most of people know the towers exist is because now, there is a huge shoes and craft market in South area; there is a military base in East area; there is a huge grocery market in East area. It seems this North is the only one well protected.

Towers are very important in . They are like most of the religious things in , it could reduce bad Karma on people — people build them and people pray on them.

I don’t know what else to introduce, but I have to say is a Holy place with all major religions.

Shenyang, Religions, part1

I love my city — , it is the hub city of Northeast China. A big city with nice people — what say that everyone here are Lei Feng (a selfless guy that Chairman Mao nominated). A big city with long history — used to be part of Manchu’s homeland. A big city with new techs — Sanhao Street(Computer technology center of Northeast China), Shenfei Aircraft(J12 figher manufacture base), and so many more.

I found some pictures of buildings in , so I want to introduce these as part of my favorite apects of my city.

As I am in US, so, let me show the in first.

This is the only in my city, I believe. it is pretty big, and beautiful, old Europe style. There are two buildings total. One is the as we see, and one is for living.

Like I said, I found these pictures online, I didnot have a chance to go back to my city. Actually, there is a big square in front of this . It is really big, the Chinese big. Think about Tiananmen Square, it is about a qualter of it. The square was built just 3 or 4 years ago by last major, he is a religious buy though he is a communist. He believe that is good for Fengshui, so there were a lot of reconstruction or reorganizations near by those buildings in those years.

I have to say, not many people believe in China. But still, there are whole lot of people there on Sunday. My grandpa was a Buddhist, but he was curious, so he went there sometimes. That is why I know these.

Every Chrismas, young guys and poor people will go to this . Of course, they have totally different purposes. Young guys educated under new educations, watch American movies. Some of them believe it is romantic to go to on Chrismas with their girlfriends or boyfriends, nothing about . Poor people, I believe not all of them are poor, they just want to have a very good meal on that day in .

In China, is controled by government, Isolated from Vatigan city. It is not that bad, I believe. I stay in US for 1 and hard years now. I saw so many misunderstandings with China and biased ideas about Communism. Maybe because of the historical nightmares, Westerners are so afraid of China — the last strong and big communism country in the world. Who hell knows what will happen if the west controls and Christain Churches in China.

沈阳,我的家!

Monday, March 17th, 2008
